Sugar packets

It has come to my attention that sugar packs vary considerably in size. I have before me three sugar packets. One from McDonalds in Brazil, one from McDonalds in Italy and one from McDonalds in the USA. I am trying to go to bed so I may not supply a picture..... Oh what the hell... OK that took way too long. My iphoto is very ill. Well anyway, the pointlessness of this is that the Brazilian packet contains 6.25 grams of sugar. The other two packets do not reveal their avoirdupois but I can assure you that they contain much less. I would guess around 3 grams. Perhaps a little more for the Italian one. An uninteresting cultural variation in sugar packet content. How do the Great Multinationals come to decide the amount of sugar in each pack? Does the Sugar Lobby have much to do with it? The Diabetes Association? I will never know.
I have been falling down on the blog lately. I try to write about one a week but..... And now I am off on one of my fugues. I leave early this morning -- well not this early, because I still have to sleep. I should be in bed. I have to pack this computer and my cameras and be sure I have all the Extra Bits so necessary to their function and I must not forget to take the cell phone and lock the house. I hope to get away from it all yes even out of cell phone range so that I can stare at the sky without interruption. The price is high for this privilege, gaswise, so I will live on roadkill and dandelions.
